OK, I am a failure. I still am very upset. In fact, more so than yesterday nobody considered my input and efforts. Everything that I did was dismissed and tossed down the drain.
They say that all great people are huge failures - that fear of failing is what keeps most people from ever trying new things and experimenting. I hope you keep trying and even fail sometimes so you can stumble on true greatness!
I also wish people weren't such jerks about deciding to go a different direction. It doesn't have to be the failure of one project over another and no one ought have behaved in a way that you'd feel so awful. For that, I would definitely say something - it's just bad management and you deserve better - your hard work deserves better.
You're welcome! Actually I was thinking I owe you thanks for reminding me to be careful about peoples' time - I manage a team and sometimes I go off on a new tangent and I'm sure I could easily step on someone's hard work without even meaning to!
